Keegan and Logan have spent a couple of days this week, like Thursday (yes Logan played hookie from school) and Sunday snowmobiling at Magic Mountain. Thursday just the 2 boys went and then Sunday Logan's friend Andrew Wheeler went with them. They had a great time both days! Here are a few pictures and yes they both came home alive and nothing was broken on them or the sleds!!!

Happy New Year
We had a fun New Year's Eve and we actually spent it as a family! Keegan and I called Walmart Wednesday morning and they actually did have a Wii (Kory and I were going to buy one as a family Christmas present and you couldn't find one) so we call Kory and he said let's get it. Keegan headed to Walmart to get the Wii and then went to Play and Trade to trade in the old PS2 so we could get some extra games for the Wii! Keegan helped me get it all set up and then we had to play for a while - it is so much fun. Logan had spent the day hunting by Shoshone, I know it's hard to believe that he would be hunting. But we waited for him to get home and then the 5 of us headed to Albion to Craig's Albion Cafe for dinner. We had an awesome dinner, the Chicken Fried Steak is the best I have ever had! We did take 2 cars so Kory and I could go have a drink w/ Debi and Ron after dinner. The kids headed home to start the Wii games. Kory and I enjoyed sometime with Debi and Ron and then headed home about 10PM. The rest of the night other than a quick break to watch the ball drop was spent playing Wii and Kory doing a puzzle when it wasn't his turn at the Wii. We finally went to bed about 1AM! Great family time it's not to often the kids just want to hang out! Sorry no pictures of Logan!
My next mission is to get the Wii fit! No luck today, we will be trying again tomorrow!

Christmas Eve Story
I have to share our Christmas Eve story - usually we go to church services on Christmas Eve, but Chancey wasn't having a great day (3rd day after surgery) and the weather was horrible. So we decided to keep Chance at home and just hang out! Everyone was watching TV and I was doing some picking up.
Kory had stopped on his way home that afternoon to pick us up some milk, he had a box in the back seat of his pickup so he put the milk in the box. When he got home and brought the box in I discovered the milk container had a small hole in it and was leaking, Kory had a coat in the box with the milk. Later in the evening I decided I better get that coat washed because it did have milk on it and I knew his other coats could use a washing, I cleaned out all the pockets... but I didn't check the sleeves. Well my darling husband had hide $25 worth the lottery tickets and my Christmas present (a gift card, thank goodness) in the sleeve of his coat. So about 9 PM Kory comes into the kitchen and says where is my coat, well by this time it was in the dryer! Needless to say below is what was left of the lottery tickets, we had one $2 winner, but the $10 ticket Deal or No Deal was completely lost!!! Hope it wasn't a big winner. Thank goodness we have actually had a good laugh about this and my need to have everything be clean all the time!!!

Chancey's surgery
Chancey had surgery this morning to repair the tendon in her right thumb. Yes, this is also a basketball injury! She jammed her thumb back in May at Basketball camp and the doctor thought it was just a sprain. Well when Volleyball started it was killing her and would swell up everyday. So we went to see Dr. Crane (he was gone when she originally hurt it), he discovered that she had damaged the tendon on the outside of her thumb and it had healed wrong. Dr. Crane said as long she could stand the pain she could finish Volleyball and play Basketball and then she could have surgery to repair it. Surgery was the only way to fix it!
So this morning @ 6AM in a huge snow storm we headed for the hospital! Dr. Crane said the surgery went great. She now has a screw in the bone of her thumb that holds her tendon tight and in place. She will send the next 2 weeks in a splint and then 6 weeks in a cast, then a little therapy and hopefully she is good to go again!
So Christmas break is laying on the couch, watching movies and recouping!!!

Chancey playing basketball
Sorry I am a little behind on my blog - Uncle Clyde made sure to let me know! So here is a little catchup. Chancey was able to get back on the basketball court on November 24th, after a month of sitting the bench letting her knee heal. She had to take it easy, but ended up with a great second half of the season averaging 12 points a game. The team ended up 2nd in their conference, they lost the championship game to Jerome (Jerome went undefeated for the year).
Chancey had parents and grandparents that held their breath a few times when she was able to start playing again, but she did great!

State Championship Football Game

The Declo Hornets Football team following the game!DECLO DENIED
Hornets lose, but runner-up finish highest in school history
By Ryan HoweTimes-News writer
Declo's dream fell one point short. The unheralded Hornets, who rose up from a 3-3 midseason record to make an unprecedented and historic playoff run, were upended by Parma in overtime, 29-28 Friday night in the Class 2A state championship game at Boise State University's Bronco Stadium. Declo finished its season 8-4, but accomplished what no other team in school history had ever done by reaching the state title game. And what a dandy of a title game it was, as the Hornets took the heavily-favored Panthers (11-1) to their limit in an overtime thriller that the players, coaches and hundreds of Declo fans who made the trip will be talking about for years. "One point difference in overtime of the state championship game, how close can we be?" said Declo coach Kelly Kidd. "The older I get, the more sports don't make sense to me because somebody always has to lose. Our kids played fantastic, all of them." Senior Riley Kowitz capped a 10-play, 73-yard drive with a 2-yard touchdown with 10 minutes remaining in regulation. Quarterback Jeremy Jenkins threw to Jarad Erickson for the two-point conversion that tied the game 22-22 and forced overtime. Parma won the coin flip and elected to play defense first in OT. On fourth-and-goal, Kowitz scored from a yard out, behind the blocks of Sage Warner and Rich Mahoney. Declo chose to go for 2, rather than attempting to kick a PAT. It's an unconventional decision most of the time, but a wise one for the Declo coaching staff under the circumstances. The Panthers had already blocked two Declo kicks, plus the Hornets' starting center and wingman were on the sideline with injuries. Jenkins avoided the Panther rush, but his pass fell incomplete on the conversion try. On Parma's turn, Lance Johnson ran in from 3-yards to knot the score, and Devin Erickson kicked in the game-winning PAT."I'm disappointed that we lost the championship, but we played the hardest we could. What more can you ask?" said Declo junior Larsen Webb. "This season was definitely a success. We were the underdogs the whole season. We started at the bottom and came clear to the top." Declo overcame various bouts with adversity throughout its season. Foremost among them was an inexplicable 13-point loss to Valley that dropped Declo to 3-3 and would eventually force a three-way Kansas City playoff in which Declo missed out on the No. 1 seed by inches - a Glenns Ferry field goal barely snuck over the cross bar. But in hindsight, Kidd believes that perhaps destiny played a role in his team's season. If Declo hadn't entered the playoffs with the No. 2 seed, perhaps it never would have survived the other side of the bracket. And if the Hornets hadn't gotten a wake-up call from Valley, they never would have self-examined and become a championship-caliber team." We had a lot of ups and downs this season and once we made it to state (playoffs) we gave it our all," said senior Tucker Edgar. "It would have been nice to get the championship, but we're proud of what we did." Declo faced more adversity earlier this week when starting center and defensive tackle Drew Matsen injured his knee during practice and was hobbling the sideline Friday on crutches. But Matsen wasn't the only Hornet banged up. Jenkins had a bad wrist on his throwing hand, Tyler Briggs walked with a noticeable limp, and Tanner Field had two sprained ankles, just to name a few. "We limped in here, and the kids played spectacular. I'm so proud of them," Kidd said.Declo also overcame adversity in the first quarter when Parma punts pinned the Hornets twice inside their own 2-yard line. Declo's first scoring drive was a 99-yard masterpiece highlighted by a 55-yard run by Jenkins and capped by an 11-yard score by Briggs. Six turnovers - three by each team - blemished the second quarter, but Parma was able to convert a fake punt on fourth-and-8 into a 41-yard touchdown run by Johnson to lead 15-8 at halftime. Declo ran the ball nine straight times to open the third quarter, capped by Will Nunnelee's 16-yard TD scamper. Parma blocked the PAT to make it 15-14.The Panthers went up 22-14 when Rance Portenier threw to Randy Riley on a slant, and the 6-foot, 200-pound sophomore took it 80 yards for the score. That set up Declo's game-tying score, which led to the overtime period. The Hornets walked off the blue turf with something no other Declo team has - a state runner-up trophy. The Hornets also left with something much more valuable: a life lesson. "Anything is possible," Edgar said. "I never thought we'd get here, but it was our goal and we reached it and I'm glad to be apart of Declo history."

State Semi Final Football
GO HORNETS! Logan's football team won their quarter final game last night against West Jefferson (defending State Champs). West Jefferson had only lost one game this season until last night when the Hornets made 2! The game was held in the Mini Dome in Pocatello and it was so much fun! Logan and the whole team played a great game -the final score was Declo 34 West Jefferson 6! So now we are headed to play Nampa Christian in the Semi Finals next Saturday back in the Mini Dome! I will let everyone know the time as soon as we know for sure. Here are few pictures from the game.

Red Neck Pheasant Farm
OK just so everyone know's this is Logan's latest project, not his parents idea. Since we have a new puppy that has to be trained to point and retrieve birds. Well you have to have birds around to train the puppy. Hence we now have a couple of pheasants! Logan got everything put together and asked me to come and help him get the 2 pheasants that he bought into his Red Neck Pheasant Farm. We really love this kid, but sometimes his projects wear us out... but I did help him and Dad made sure we had pheasant feed the next morning. Hope things work out training Ace, the poor birds!

Chancey's knee
Just an update on Chancey's knee injury. She has micro fractures and bone bruising in the bone at the bottom of the knee. She is actually very lucky, the doctor said most of the time with this type of injury you see a blown ACL as well. Chancey's ACL and all other tendons and ligaments looked great on the MRI. So she is on crutches for a couple of weeks and then we go back to the doctor to see where things are at. Hopefully she will be back to play basketball for the last 4 weeks of the season.

The worst week
Well the Knopp klan has had the worst week ever. I spent the last weekend getting ready for a crazy week, catching up on laundry and planning some meals, because we knew the week ahead was going to be very busy. The week was going to include 2 football games for Logan and 3 basketball games for Chancey and Keegan planned to come on Thursday (he rearranged a couple of things so he could be home for Chancey's Thursday night basketball game).
