And the Prom King is...

Last night was the Declo High School 2009 Junior Prom. Logan's beautiful date was Jessica Heward. And thanks to Grannie (Diane) for the sweet ride. I didn't get a picture of their whole group, but they went with 9 other couples. The morning started early as they had to be to the Webb's house in Raft River for breakfast by 8 AM then it was off to Pocatello to a Gymnastics place to play. Dinner was at the Stoker's and then it was off to the prom. The big surprise of the night was the announcement of Prom King - Logan Knopp and Prom Queen - Jessica Heward. This is voted on by the student body so it is an honor!

Looking good...

Let's Go Racing Boys!!!

Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Kory & I recieved the most awesome Christmas present from Dad & Barb... a trip Las Vegas and tickets to the Nascar races both Saturday and Sunday. We headed for Vegas Friday, February 27th with Dad & Barb, Ken & Nanette Kostka, & Larry & Tonya Clair. Our ride to Vegas was in a 40 foot motorhome, which we were parking at the Speedway. We arrived in the afternoon and after getting settled in our rooms at The Orleans, it was off to see Kenny Wayne Shepard (an awesome guitar player, who has is own show and band). It was a great show Kenny was totally amazing, I could have watched him play for hours!

Saturday, February 28th

Off to the races... Saturday we went to the "Neon Garage", yes it was an extra charge, but so worth it. We got to go down on pit road. We also got to see the crews working on all the cars for Sunday's race. And we were at Victory Lane to see the winner Greg Biffle after he won the race.

Sunday, March 1st

Sunday we headed to our actual seats - right in the middle of turns 3 & 4. The seats were awesome we could see the whole track. The sun was shining and we were ready to hear the cars rumble. Of course we had a little pool and everyone had their driver picked!

The view from our seats!
Dad, Barb, Nanette & Ken watching the race.

Lined up and ready for the start... It was hard to get a good picture of the cars
going 180 miles an hour...

Both evenings following the race we Barbqued dinner at the motorhome and hung out around the camp fire. It can take over 3 hours to get out of the parking lots, hence the reason we took a motorhome. So we could cook dinner, hang out and then when things cleared out we could jump in our little jeep (long story) and head back to the hotel!
Larry telling us some story... apparently it was funny. Dad, Tonya, Barb & Nan

Thanks to everyone for letting Kory & I tag along! It was an awesome time that we won't soon forget! By the way Kyle Busch went from the back to the front to win Sunday's race and Dad took everyone's money with a smile!

Chancey's Bionic Thumb

OK I know it's been a while since we have done a blog update... So here it goes...
I am going to start with Chancey's Bionic Thumb (or at least that's what Kory & I call it)! One little basketball injury is now 2 surgeries and one screw later and it looks like everything is going to hold. After the surgery in December and spending 3 weeks in a cast, Chancey started Occupational Therapy at the end of January. There were a couple of spots in the scar that just keep sticking out more and the therapist thought maybe it was a stitch or two. Back to Dr. Crane we go. Sure enough it appeared that there were a couple of stitches that had come to the surface and were trying to come through Chancey's skin. The big problem was is the stitches were actually the ends of the line that Dr. Crane had run through her ligament and into the screw to hold everything together. It was finally decided that the only way to fix things was to remove the stitches, Dr. Crane felt like everything was good and the ligament would hold on it's own! So March 13th was surgery #2, Dr. Crane removed the stitches and made sure that everything looked good. 5 more stitches which came out 10 days later and 14 days after surgery #2 Chancey played in a basketball tournament in Boise. Seems the Bionic thumb is good to go, although Mom has a heart attack every time she get's fouled, falls down and etc.

This picture is the day she hurt it playing basketball in May 2008.
The picture doesn't show how black, blue and swollen it really was!
